FAQs

  • We are big believers that Yoga is for everyone - you do not need to have a particular body type or flexibility level, specifically branded clothing, or an already consistent meditation practice.

Our teachers offer modifications and progressions in all classes to allow students of all levels to practice together. If you’re yet to attend your first yoga class, we recommend starting with one of our slower-paced classes (e.g. Slow Flow or Mindful Movement) so that you can take your time, and get to know the postures, and the body you call home.

Before class begins, be sure to let your teacher know if you are only just starting your yoga journey, or if you have any pre-existing injuries or illness that you need to be mindful of throughout class.

If you’d like a little extra help getting started, check out our blog ‘Starting Your Yoga Journey’.

  • We recommend wearing clothing that you are comfortable exercising in. Ideally, your clothing should not restrict your range of motion or cause any irritation if you break a sweat! We also recommend socks and a jumper so that you can get cozy towards the end of class.

PS - we also have fluffy slippers available for you to wear at the studio!

  • You can read descriptions of each of our offerings on our Class Styles page!

  • At Sasana Yoga Studio, we provided all the yoga equipment required for each class (mats, bolsters, blocks, straps, and blankets) so that all you need to bring is yourself. When you arrive at the studio, placemats will be set in the yoga studio, and you will have access to props and cleaning equipment. If you have your own Yoga mat that you like to practice with, you are very welcome to bring your own.

  • Please advise your teacher of any injuries at the beginning of class and be mindful to move only within your capacity throughout class. Your teacher can assist you by providing modifications and guidance, however, will not give you medical advice.

We recommend seeking advice and/or clearance from a physiotherapist or other medical professional if you are unsure of your physical capacity.

Practicing Yoga

  • We encourage students to book in advance via our booking website to secure your spot and ensure your studio experience is as seamless as possible. It is not uncommon for classes to be full!

If you are new to the studio, we recommend setting up an account and browsing our class packs and membership options. However, if you would prefer to discuss these options in person with your teacher, we can accept card payments at the studio. In this instance, we recommend arriving at the studio early and allowing plenty of time before the class starts.

  • We understand that plans can change and you may not be able to attend a class you booked in for. In this instance, we kindly request that you cancel as soon as possible to ensure your spot can be offered to someone else. This can be done until 1 hour before class start time via your student profile, but we do ask that you do this as early as possible.

If you do not cancel your booking, nor attend the class, the class will be debited from your class pack or membership.

Additionally, out of respect for our community, please arrive on time. Classes run to schedule and the entrance door will be locked for the duration of class, meaning that late entries are not possible. We recommend that you arrive with plenty of time to get yourselves settled into the space.

  • We believe yoga should be affordable and accessible to everyone.

We offer a 10% discount on our memberships for students and concession card holders. To set up a concession membership, please contact us directly.

For anyone experiencing financial hardship, please don't hesitate to reach out regarding alternative membership options.
